Christopher Barker

Christopher Barker has always had music in his life. Being raised in a Salvation Army family meant learning the cornet from the age of 5.

Having currently served 30 years in HM Forces being principal trombone in various bands. The Life Guards, The Band of Corps of Royal Engineers and The Band and Bugles of The Rifles to name a few. He came back to the brass band world whilst serving in The Royal Engineers Band in Chatham, helping Northfleet Brass Band return to the Championship Section.

Chris says:

"I am delighted to have been appointed as the Musical Director of Witney Town Band. The opportunity of being part of a warm, friendly, driven group of musicians was too good to miss. The band is full of potential with a willingness to learn and improve. I look forward to this new chapter in our musical journey together."
